The Yellow Pyjamas

A Countess From Hong Kong (1967) is a funny classic comedy by Charlie Chaplin about a Russian stowaway who tries to get to America, causing an endless stream of misunderstandings and trouble
for a staid millionaire diplomat who has no choice but to help her to avoid further complications.

Costume designer Olga Lehmann provides a great choice of clothes for the limited amount of different
looks Sophia Loren´s character is able to wear. Clearly, the Italian actress is a stablished sex symbol  and wears a breathtaking dress in the film. But there's probably nothing as adorable, stylish and sexy at the
same time as watching her in a pyjamas borrowed from Marlon Brando.

If you want to watch the whole pyjama scene, go to minute 10:20.

The Eye-Blouse

As you may have realised, I'm a big fan of quirky blouses. So I really liked this singular specimen when I watched The Women (George Cukor, 1939). Customer designer Adrian did an impressive job with the clothes, he had to create for the 135 women who appear in this film!

This may not be a proper pick for this FFF section, given that it's not so iconic and a pretty unknown piece, but I loved how Rosalind Russell wears it and impersonates character Sylvia Fowler, a busybody gossip expert.

[Sorry for the pictures quality, they're film stills from the scene]

The White Tee

T-shirt sales soared after James Dean wore one in this film.
Dressing down was suddenly more favorable than dressing up.

The Angora Sweater

This is the first post for the FFF (Film Fashion Flashback) section.

Film: "Paris, Texas" (Wim Wenders)
Still: Nastassja Kinski wearing a pink angora backless sweater/dress.

As Spanish critic Carlos Pulmares said:
"Nastassja Kinski was the best thing Klaus Kinski did"
