"Your clothes may say disco, but your eyes say rock'n'roll"

The Eye-Blouse

As you may have realised, I'm a big fan of quirky blouses. So I really liked this singular specimen when I watched The Women (George Cukor, 1939). Customer designer Adrian did an impressive job with the clothes, he had to create for the 135 women who appear in this film!

This may not be a proper pick for this FFF section, given that it's not so iconic and a pretty unknown piece, but I loved how Rosalind Russell wears it and impersonates character Sylvia Fowler, a busybody gossip expert.

[Sorry for the pictures quality, they're film stills from the scene]

The Man Repeller

She's one of my favourite personal style bloggers so far. Not only she has a fresh and singular taste for clothes and outfits, but it's mainly for that funny and quirky thing she has.

A smile is always welcome, and not taking yourself extremely seriously as well, which in my opinion a mistake many egobloggers make. Leandra Medine doesn't have just a great and edgy fashion sense - and an impressive closet! - she has an even better sense of humour.
You can notice it all over her blog, tumblr or twitter.

outfitting oneself in a sartorially offensive way that will result in repelling members of the opposite sex. Such garments include but are not limited to harem pants, boyfriend jeans, overalls (see: human repelling), shoulder pads, full length jumpsuits, jewelry that resembles violent weaponry and clogs.
–verb (used without object),-pell·ing, -pell·ed.
to commit the act of repelling men:
Girl 1: What are you wearing to the party?
Girl 2: My sweet lime green drop crotch utility pants!
Girl 1: Oh, so we're man repelling tonight?

"Everybody should have one talent, what's yours? "

I found this picture in the January issue of Vogue Australia,
in which Valentina Zelyaeva and Ben Hill take a romantic summer getaway.

This editorial is called The Wanderers, and it reminded me of this scene from The Talented Mr Ripley,
an American psychological thriller written for the screen and directed by Anthony Minghella
starring Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jude Law.

The motorbike, the blonde in a trench, the atmosphere... isn't the inspiration clear here?

Sweet Kim Noorda

I discovered this pictures flicking through the fashion magazines shelf while waiting for my flight in an airport. When i saw Kim Noorda in this editorial, i couldn't help but buy this Tank Magazine Fall Issue.

Ravenclaw's New Face

Reading through the NewFaces section, you sometimes find some funny and nice stories about how the upcoming models have been discovered. I found this one of the most adorable ones.

Celeste Velis -green eyed newcomer model from El Salvador (Ford Models NY)- was scouted at the last Harry Potter movie premiere dressed as a Ravenclaw, even with a wand tucked into her socks.
Just for that, i'll keep an eye on her.

The White Tee

Film: "Rebel Without A Cause" (Nicholas Ray)
Costume Designer: Moss Mabry

T-shirt sales soared after James Dean wore one in this film.
Dressing down was suddenly more favorable than dressing up.

Habitat Christmas Tree Decorations

If you are as lazy as me -or haven't had the time- and you still haven't prepared your home for this holiday, take a look at Habitat's Christmas collection. I went yesterday and I was amazed with the beautiful and unconventional decorations they have. Baubles were probably one of the things I enjoyed the most.

Here you have a selection of them:

Triptychs of Strangers

Triptychs of Strangers is a continuing photographic series by Adde Adesokan, where the goal is to “meet total strangers - get to know them - take three personality-matching body shots - make them one".

The Analog Lover

Thing that attired my attention the most about this project is, not only the great pictures he takes and the original triptych format, but the possibility of knowing more about the person who is portrayed.
Adde talks to all the people he stops, conversates with them.

So the result is not just a pretty picture of someone with great style, it's a portrait, an impression of the individual and the situation the pictures were taken in.
They make it easier to imagine them, their life or their personality, even their story.

Peek-A Boo

Who's this shy person hiding behind a fan Yves Saint Laurent is with?

It's a young and quite unrecognizable Karl Lagerfeld!
