Mango's Summer Catalogue is out. They had Kate Moss, they had Terry Richardson,
and if you look through the collection you will realise they also had the clothes. But rather than
awe-inspiring, the result is much more yawn-inspiring. The styling is plain, mainly white on white,
on even more white. The photography style is nothing special and the poses are repeated in
several pictures. Kate Moss looks fresh and stylish, but since when is that novel?
Mango could have created a more individual and inspired catalogue with all the ingredients they had,
why didn't they? The other big Spanish high street brand Zara seemed to have the same shyness about taking risks in their lookbooks until they started to be a bit more innovative with the TRF line. Hopefully Mango will surprise us soon and make the most of that large amount of talent they have with them.
