Designer to Watch: Yvonne Kwok

I discovered Yvonne Poei-Yie Kwok after she took part in the Hyeres Festival presenting her
"Little Mary" collection, an amazing showcase of elaborated garments with a harlequin inspiration.
This 25 year old Dutch designer graduated at Amsterdam Fashion Institute, interned at Viktor&Rolf
and was selected finalist for best international collection at the London Graduate Fashion Week.

As you can see, her work is very detailed, with a lot of handwork and
reinterpretation of textures and shapes. If you want to see more check her website here,
she'll definitely be worth following up.

The Rodnik Band: London Clothing

Telephone booth coat, OVS Collection

Philip Colbert is the Scottish designer behind playful The Rodnik Band fashion label.
His latest AW13 collection "It's Corgi Time" - full of doubledecker and black taxi bags, teacups and
other British motifs- has benefited from all the Jubilee hype we are going through these days. Looking through his other collections, it is easy to compare him with French designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac and American designer Jeremy Scott for the strong sense of fun his clothing possesses.

But this designer doesn't only make fashion, he is also involved in song writing and video making, he is a perfect mix of fashion, music and art. You know you have to love him when you read in the label's website that in the studio they listen to "The Sex Pistols, The Clash, Public Image Ltd and Marcel Duchamp lectures" and the Rodnik band woman "has the spirit of a young Peggy Guggenheim".

CO-TE: The New Austerity

CO-TE is an italian brand founded by the designers Tomasso Anfossi and Francesco Ferrari,
who founded this brand after a fast friendship created from several collaborations.

They make clothes for women who like to experiment without resulting vulgar.
The ever present reference in all their collections are the geometric shapes, the chromatic overlays and the care of every single piece they make. That's why they do it in the Italian way, following the tradition and quality which are pennant from their country and their national fashion industry.

Karen Walker

Karen Walker is a New Zealand-born fashion designer with a reputation for her original, effortless and unpretentious style.
Karen’s collections are high casual with one foot in tailoring and the other in street wear. The recurring theme is taking extremes and pushing them together - masculine and feminine, tailored and street, luxury and non-luxury, dark and super-cute.

I love this Karen Walker's collection

[i want this skirt]
I've just finished my exams!

Jeremy Scott

I was taking a look at the site of american designer Jeremy Scott and i realized (it's easy to see) that all his collections are, at least, excentric...i mean, not the kind of outfit you could wear daily...not very pret-a-porter.

His looks have been defined like:
"A free-for-all of controversial ideas, sometimes wrapped in style", and i totally agree.

Here i leave you some examples of what i mean....
I love transgressor collections...and i bet this designer is one of the best making them!!
