Karlie Kloss loves Americana

Karlie Kloss is definitely one of the most chameleonic models at the moment. She can look fierce, sweet, strike impossible poses, and -like in this Manhasset Spring 2012 Campaign- look like a perfect 50's wife, i would even say like a Barbie by the style of some pictures

The Karlie Kloss doll cooks, dances to music, loves milkshakes, cooks, plays golf... and she looks flawless! Includes all accesories: kitchen, car, husband, house with swimming pool and dog.
Avalaible this Spring!

If you want to see all the pics, this slide show is for you.

We belong in a movie

When I made the resume about this season's campaigns I didn't include Jil Sander's;
partly because it didn't fit in any of the categories I selected - well, in the Retro ones it does - ,
partly because it's one of the most original ones this Spring 2012.

Natasha Poly and Daria Strokous, photographed by William Vanderperre, look like troubled characters of a classic horror movie, I would even say like Hitchcock movies inspired women. Of course, this season is the precise moment that Raf Simons has decided to move on, locating his inspiration in the mid-century modern design movement. Jil Sander show relentlessly pursued an elegance that was fifties in appearance.

2012 Spring Campaigns

All of the 2012 Spring campaigns are starting to see the light these days, you can realise some patterns or some frequents people among them, like Natasha Poly or Mert&Marcus. But I've gone through all of them, picked the ones I liked the most and classified them in 2 types: the retro and the outdoors ones.

LOUIS VUITTON
Daria Strokous and Kati Nescher enjoy their ice cream in sugary sweet looks portrayed by Steven Meisel.

PROENZA SCHOULER
Natasha Poly brings out her Pin-up side with this brilliant collection. Crop tops help to be a sexy secretary.

PRADA
A gas station is the perfect place to wear the car motif clothes. Again Natasha Poly, by Steven Meisel.

MAX MARA
Sun-drenched girls in flower prints. Betty Draper would want one of those dresses.

CHANEL
Very original campaign by Karl Lagerfeld. Clasically dressed Saskia de Brauw and Joan Smalls practise gymnastics by the sea.

VALENTINO
Valentino's ethereal muses wander in their dreamy dresses portrayed by Turbeville.

DOLCE & GABBANA
Bianca Balti and Monica Belluci are part of this traditional Southern Italian family enjoying Sundays.

MOSCHINO
Another Italy inspired campaign. This time Juergen Teller photographs Kasia Strauss in Spanish inspired clothes, the most elegant tourist Rome has seen.

Cushnie et Ochs

Londoner Carly Cushnie and New Yorker Michelle Ochs present in models.com their S/S '12 Campaign first look. This brand may sound familiar to you because you've been able to see a look from this collection -full of sharp silhouettes, intricate play of shape, refined tailoring and technical craftsmanship- worn by Liya Kebede.

What Does Iggy Pop Smell Like?

Iggy Pop has been revealed as the new face of Paco Rabanne's new fragrance "Black XS L’Excès".

According the to Daily Mail:  "Paco Rabanne's Black XS L’Excès, which will have both a men's and a women's version, will debut in France in January next year, accompanied by a billboard and television campaign with Pop as the star. The name of the fragrance - French for excess - suits the American-born singer, who was once one of the music industry's most anarchic figures. Renowned music video director Jonas Akerlund - he of the recent Girl Panic! Duran Duran music video starring 90s supermodels - will be directing the TV commercials, which will screen in the new year."

Though this punk legend had already discontented his fans by  letting "Lust for Life" be used for many years in ads for Royal Caribbean, or by starring in an insurance campaign on british TV (said to be almost as unsettling as Johny Rotten's Butter commercial); his collaborations with fashion world have usually been met with acclaim by critics.

Even in this blog we dedicated a post to his Love Magazine cover, but I'm afraid this time I'm not a fan of his choice. The image for this ad is weird, he looks like he's having "No Fun" holding that huge bottle of fragrance.

Chanel's Nail Cabaret

This is a special performance starring Le Vernis de Chanel.
Never nail polish advertisements were so funny, wait until the credits!

Do you want to dance with Karen and Raquel?

Everybody who has had internet lately has watched this video already, a huge hit that's gone viral and, from my point of view, the funniest and most adorable fashion campaign in ages; not only for the risk of mixing Lanvin with Pitbull music, but also for the appearance of Alber Elbaz at the end of the ad. He's shown a great sense of humour himself, congratulations.

But what I wanted to tell you about in this post is Lanvin is looking for imitators for the NYC Vogue Fashion Night out.

French firm have thought that the best way to celebrate Fashion's Night Out in New York is looking for the best imitators of the now famous choreography in her boutique on Madison Avenue.

Of all couples who sign up, five will be chosen at random to prove their skills before a jury is rumored to be headed by Zimmerman and Elson, to clinch the victory and win a special gift.

Dolce & Gabbana drives me crazy

The campaign for this season's collection is out, and it reminded me of how much I loved it!

Not just the clothes are great, i love the young and rebel vibe of the photographs Steven Klein has got.

Besides I would really like to congratulate the stylist in charge of it, that's a great job mixing clothes, fabrics, prints and styles!

I think everybody at the moment know what are going to be the trends next season, even though it's July and we should be enjoying summer!

But here are some of my favourite ones extracted from Dolce&Gabbana collection, so many things I would like to have...

Because we're all starting to be a bit tired of the leopard print, here's an alternative even more wild.

Everybody loves to shine, and sequins are always the best option to look stunning.

Flat or heels, feminine or masculine, black and white or colourful... you have plenty of them to choose.

This print already tried a couple of years ago, but it didn't really get a major approval. But now, believe me, comes to stay.

A original and funny motive for our accesories, or even clothes.

Following the star print, you have the star applications! They're everywhere, shine, and we want them.

Helena Bonham Carter for Marc Jacobs

Here the new print ads. Definitely not conventional, but what did we expect from her?
Besides the photographer is Juergen Teller.

Coat, accesories, pink scalloped dress

Ray-Ban Films

Here you have my favourite videos from the Ray-Ban campaign.
They're nice stories, images full of summer feelings, friends, happy people, sun, optimism, nice clothes and glasses, obviously! Just the place and moments you wish you were in!

(Note: Don't watch if you're revising or having exams these days, it'll increase your need for holidays to arrive)

WATERGUN
I love this one, so funny, just imagine doing this!
Water fights are always a cool plan on summer!

CONCERT
Best friends, camping to get tickets, great music.

DINGHY
Nice idea to celebrate somebody's birthday,
if any of my friends is reading this... just saying!

Vincent Gallo???

What are you doing there....i mean, in the new H&M campaign???!!

When did he decided to throw off his controversial career as a super-independent auteur?
Maybe being the image of H&m is the new bohemian indie wave...

Don't misunderstand me, i adored him, but it has been so shocking to know this, hehe

H&M ads

I love fashion ads!
All of them...perfumes, collections, makeup...

And i've realised that when H&M has a designer colaboration... the result (apart from the collection and people fighting on the shop's door) is a great TV advertisement.

They usually have a common climate:
the "secret" of the designer identity who has colaborated,
which is discovered at the end of the spot!

Viktor & Rolf
[model: Raquel Zimmerman]

Roberto Cavalli
[here i recognize Stam and Erin Wasson]

old lady: Pick me up in three days...
let's make it three weeks...
someone with italian accent:Roberto! whre you've been?
you are missing the party!
Roberto Cavalli: Missing the party? i am THE PARTY!

Karl Lagerfeld

Stella Mcartney

[the model: Mariacarla]

which one do you like the most?

Keith Richards for Vuitton

I know this is nothing new, but i adored this campaign,i found it really original.

Obviously, this is my favourite photo...i mean...a rock star and Vuitton suitcases? Who gives more?

And if you add the fact that he is not only a rock star, he is a Rolling Stone...ok, then i go crazy!

I do love Keith Richards

Keith Richards by Annie Leibovitz
I think the photo haves a great atmosphere...

Also appeared on the campaign Mijail Gorbachov (ex URSS president), french actress Catherine Deneuve, and the tennist players Steffi Graf and André Agassi.

The money Richards earned with this campaign is destinated to "The Climate Project", promoted by Al Gore.

What did you think about that campaign?
