Would You Wear The Ham-Bag?

Keeping on with its usage of ordinary motifs for eccentric pieces, The Rodnik Band
presents the hambag. A sequined piece of meat shaped bag for the ultimate kinky accesory.

But, would you wear it or you think it is funny but not to wear at all?

Weekly Buy: Bird Earrings

Doing my weekly scan of high street stores, I have realised that birds are becoming a common theme
for jewelry. But it is not the classic silver/bronze eagle I am talking about, but more tropical species.
After a canary ruling a social network and some angry birds starring a famed game - as well as some dresses-, prepare yourself to become an expert ornithologist.

Under The Weather

I saw this picture on The Sartorialist a few weeks ago, and I thought it posed an interesting point.

Do you choose your clothes always according to the weather ?
Is it just illogical to wear a fur coat without tights ?
Or are we too influenced by rigid rules based on concepts that tie
down our intention to experiment with new mixes and sets ?

As for Scott Schuman himself, he speaks his mind in the post and says:
"Dressing for the weather is a very inaccurate science, and quoting tired concepts
or rules only shows a lack of understanding for the variety in our lives".

Harper's Bazaar US-Turkey Connection

It's not the same, but it's quite the same...

On the left, Better Franke by Lachlan Bailey for Harper's Bazaar US.
On the right, Mini Anden by Koray Birand for Harper's Bazaar Turkey.

At first glance the styling is very different in both spreads: US one has a clear retro inspiration while the Turkey one has a more actual choice of clothes. But if you look twice, apart from being both February issues of the same magazine, you can find there's much more in common.

Like some of the poses the models strike, the composition of some shots, the swimming pool, the dark lips make-up, the California vibe -US' spread footage is Palm Springs and Turkey's spread is L.A.-.
Come on, you must have just seen the similarities by now as well.

Sunny Blazer

Celebrities keep chosing yellow for their public appereances in galas and events,
defying the superstitions this colour has for the artists, like Liya Kebede did not so long ago.

This time, two actresses have chosen the same yellow blazer, from
Stella McCartney's Resort 2012 collection, but they combined it in different ways.

While Elena Anaya decided to go for the total look; Kirsten Dunst decided to mix it with
Rodarte's Spring 2012 crop trousers and go for a mono chrome look.

"Express Yourself"

What did you do last Friday night?
Domenico Dolce, Steffano Gabanna and Vogue Italia's editor Franca Sozzani were in the "Express Yourself" party in the Dolce & Gabanna Shangai boutique.

I'm sure all of you have already seen loads of celebrities wearing the sequin dresses by this fashion house collection, all of them looking shiny and stunning; this party wasn't an exception to it.

So let's pay attention to the gentlemen who attended the event this time.

On the left you have actor Hu Ge, wearing a classic and well accomplished polished gentleman look.
On the right model Hao Yun Xiang, pulling off a more risky look with a bit of a grunge touch.

Jeremy Scott is on time

Yesterday i was looking for a new watch in the Swatch online store,
because i'm getting a bit tired of my Casio, and i found these amazing collaboration
with the american designer Jeremy Scott.

It's not the first collaboration Swatch makes, there are also original models result of the contribution of Markus Linnenbrink and Terje Haakonsen.

Jeremy Scott is well known for combining fashion and an ironic pop culture influence, as seen on this previous post on Blonde Hair Blue Jeans.

So when i saw this collection, some references to pop culture came to my mind, which may have been the inspiration (or not), to these cool watches:

Lighning Flash
It did remind me of the Marvel X-Men Wolverine

Winged Swatch
Another X-Men superhero for this one, Angel

Wings seem to be a current theme on the collaboration of Jeremy Scott, you can also see them on the Adidas JS Wings he made.

Swatch Opulence
Not a superhero, but another fiction character with some kind of special power

What do you think of them? Which is your favourite one?
